For Christmas, we got to go visit Brett’s family in Arizona.  It was perfect timing because Utah was getting a lot of crazy storms and it was so cold.  We left on the night of the 26th.  We like to fly at night because there usually is no one on the plane.  We get to take Kyla’s car seat and she sleeps the entire flight.  It is nice, easy and very peaceful.  It didn’t turn out to be nice or easy because there was a storm ndd the flight was delayed.  Our flight was supposed to get to Az by about 11:00pm.  We pulled in somewhere in the 1:00am range.  The storm made the flight delayed but we also had to wait in line for our plane to be DE-ICED!!!  I didn’t even know they did that.  Yeah, it took a little while.

We had a little gift exchange with the family for the Christmas that we missed.  Kyla loved getting more presants.  She loved that she got to rip things and not hear me say, “Oh…NO… that is your daddy’s homework!  He has only worked on that for hours, which is why you haven’t seen him in a week!  I sure hope he saved that…”  I also have a very, and I mean VERY, girly girl here.  I don’t even know what to do with her.  I have never ever been or delt with someone this girly.  Not that I am manish in any way.  It’s just that she is VERY girly!  She loves shoes, purses, clothes, jewlery, etc…  When I am in the bathroom getting ready she is right there beside me with her brush brushing her hair(what little hair she has).  She puts her hands up and messes with her hair like she is doing something with it like mommy does.  When she got clothes or shoes for her birthday or Christmas she just got a huge grin on her face.  She came right over to me and insisted that I put whatever it was on her right then.

She loves so much to be and play outside.  Living where we do doesn’t make it very easy to let her play and wander around outside.  I am not in the type of apartment complex that is like its own neighborhood.  It is not even close.  It is way too cold and she doesn’t like when she is so bundled that she can’t move-when she falls down and rolls on the ground and can’t get up.  She doesn’t even have the right shoes to protect her feet from getting wet and cold.  With her unusually small feet I could not find snow boots, or any decent shoes for her to use outside.  All of the shoes her size are for babies who only-maybe-know how to crawl!  It’s not so easy finding many shoes like that that are size 1.  At least now she can wear a 2 or 3 but no boots are made smaller than a 5.  I tried size 5 snow boots though… lets just say it didn’t go so well.  When we got to Arizona none of that mattered because there is no snow!  She got to play in her Gramma and Pops’ huge back yard.  She loved to run around with all of her cousins, slide on the slide and LOVED to play with the dog Zeus.  She wasn’t the biggest fan of the swings though.

Gramma and Pops also threw her a birthday party because they had missed it.  It was so much fun!  And I was extremly lucky to help (not very much help though) bake a cake for Kyla.  I absolutley love my sister-in-law and her very special talent with cakes.  She made the cuttest cake for Kyla(thanks again Mandy).
