Just the same old stuff

Cortney and I aren’t up to many new things.  I am working for an investment firm named Fidelity Investments.  I have been there for about two months and am doing very well.  I have already received two special recognition awards.  It isn’t necessarily my favorite job, but I love the team I work with.  We all get along wonderfully, and that makes the day go by much more smoothly.  I work four long 10-hour days so I can have three days off with the two beautiful girls in my life.  However, when I am home, I am usually running errands or hiding in the bedroom doing math homework.  Sometimes there just isn’t any time to relax.  I am just about to finish my application to the Master of Public Health graduate program and the University of Utah.  I am scared to death that I won’t be accepted, but I will try and try again until I am accepted somewhere.  It has been a long process trying to figure out exactly what educational path will help me fulfill my career goals.  Even so, I feel confident that this Master program, along with a Master in Health Administration (which I plan on applying for next year) will take me exactly where I want to be; playing an adminstrative role in an organization where I can have an international affect on health outreach programs.  So these draw my main attention.

Cortney and I have been dying to “hit the slopes” for quite a while now.  Snow has just been dumped all over the Salt Lake valley and surrounding areas and it taunts us on a daily basis.  The sooner we get on our snowboards and carve some pathways the sooner we will be able to relax.

Cortney has been sending out resumes and looking into going back to work for a few hours each week.  She has been getting some good responses from some employers and has even been offered a job.  She really wants to have a job close to home, so I think she is holding out for the perfect one.  She is very good at what she does and has helped quite a few people who were in pain.  It’s just a matter of time before someone discovers her abilities and snatches her up without any intentions of ever letting her go.

So, all in all, we are doing wonderfully and couldn’t ask for much more.  One thing we do ask for is your thoughts, prayers, crossed fingers, bribes, etc. that will help me get into school.  Anything helps…

Brett

Things have been going very well for us.  Kyla is just the best thing that has ever happened to us.  She brings so much joy into our life and we couldn’t be happier.  We will write more another time, but we just wanted to get some of our latest pictures up.  We hope you enjoy!
