Summer Fun!

| July 21st, 2010 | → 1 Comments |

These are some of the fun things we did this summer…so far.

Lots of swimming at my moms house.

A family trip to Seattle.  Brett had a few job interviews there so we decided we could all go and have a fun little vacation.  It was tons of fun.  Lots of playing at the beach.  Tons and tons of different parks in different cities.  Kyla found her first seashell…she was so excited.  Messages in bottles.  I don’t remember what it said so it must have been lame. HAHA.  Bretts birthday dinner.   We got him some sushi, it was just from the local grocery store but everytime we would go to the store we would see the guy making all the sushi fresh everyday.  So we got some for him as a birthday treat.   The octopus made me really really grossed out.  We went on a tiny hike in the forest.  Kyla loves to hike.  The tiny hike was right by a lake so they played in the water a little too.   Poor little Kyla was sick the first few days.  At night we gave her a bowl and told her if she needed to throw up to do so in the bowl.  When I went to check on her I found her sleeping with the bowl on her head.

Lots of holding Reegan, from morning until night.

We went to visit family in Arizona.  Brett go to go hike Havasupi(thats in the grand canyon) with his brother-in-law.  That sign Brett is over says “Desend at own risk, Exersise extreem caution!”  Yeah…don’t think thats where I would want to hike.  Brett learned not to swim so close to a huge waterfall or you might get sucked in.  I think that should be commom sense though. ;) Love ya babe!

Kyla had so much fun playing with her cousins.  She had a few firsts.  Her first time husking corn, her first parade(Reegans too, but she’s still small), first time crawdad fishing.  The parade was pretty cool and very long.  They had tons of cool stuff but I have way to many pictures to show.

Hike

We decided that it would be fun to take Kyla on a hike a while ago.  We got all ready, got Kyla all excited.  Brett found the perfect place that would be beautiful for us and fun for Kyla.  We were just a little worried that we would get a little rain.  Weather man said it might sprinkle a little.  Well after our really long drive up the mountain I realized it was going to be a lot colder than I had planned.  Brett told me it was going to be cold but it was so nice at our house I just thought it was going to be a little colder like just a little higher on the mountain and a little rain cold.  So I didn’t bring a jacket because I was going to carry Reegan and thought I would be just fine.  I was very wrong.  We never actually made it to the place we wanted to hike because Kyla said she had to go potty so we had to stop at some bathrooms(and I wanted to cry!!!) I hate dirty nasty bathrooms where the toilet is basically just a hole in the ground!  And with Kyla’s new “let me do it” “don’t touch me” phase I was afraid she was going to fall into the big hole of nasty!!!  I am getting off the subject now.  When we got up there we realized we where not going to worry so much about a little rain but rather a ton of snow.  We decided to go back and find a hike not so far up in the mountains.  Brett saw a little path off the side of the road on out way down so we stopped to check it out.  This guy that was there said it was a very small hike, perfect for kids.  So we got everything ready, Kyla was so excited to go on a hike.  It was a nice hike with a beautiful waterfall at the top of it.  Kyla probably could have done more.  She just has way too much energy!  It was really good for her though because she got to do her favorite thing….jump.  She loves to jump.  On things, off things, standing still, running and jumping, jumping over things…well I think you get the point.  We ended up having a really great time and hopefully it will stay warm enough that we can go do the one we wanted to do in the first place and we wont need snow shoes!

The Girls

Just thought I would give some updates on the girls.  Kyla is great.  A little too independent sometimes…okay, all of the time.  We love her to death but when will it stop.  Haha.  She is very helpfull with Reegan.  Sometimes it is just too helpfull.  The other day I looked over and Kyla had Reegan up on her shoulder.  I admit, I freaked out a bit.  She said she was just trying to burp her.  How cute and helpfull….just too helpfull. :)   She is such a funny girl.  She is always here to keep us entertained.  She loves to read to Reegan.  We love to listen to her read to her too.  Reegan is just so cute we love her so much!  She has started smiling at us a couple of weeks ago so I thought it was about time to try to get a picture of it.  Well just so you know, it doesnt work.  She just stares at the camera.  If I try to get her to look at me and put the camera out of her site this is the picture I get….

Kyla told me that this was her bandaid…what a silly little one.  She has such a great imagination.

I can tell she is smiling but…come on!  The third one is actually a pretty good one.  Brett also thought it would be funny to give her a taste of pickle the other day.  I was against it but look how funny her face was. Haha
